Software Engineer

Weekday is seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team on-site in San Francisco, CA. In this full-time role, you will design, build, and scale high-quality software systems that power core products and services, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver reliable, scalable, and user-focused solutions. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems, building systems from the ground up, and working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. To be successful, candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience. Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, Go, JavaScript, or TypeScript is required. You should also have experience building scalable backend services, APIs, or distributed systems, and familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. Additionally, candidates should have experience with modern software development practices including Git, CI/CD, and automated testing, as well as strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Preferred qualifications include experience building products from early-stage development through scale, familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and experience working with modern frontend frameworks such as React. Knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL systems, and an interest in emerging technologies like AI and machine learning are also highly valued.
