Software Engineer

Circleback is building the source of truth for everything said at a company, starting with best-in-class AI meeting notes, action items, and search. We are seeking a full-time Software Engineer to join our small, high-craft team on-site in San Francisco, CA. In this full-stack role, you will tackle greenfield problems with no established playbook, shipping end-to-end features across our web (React, Next.js), desktop (Electron, Swift), and mobile apps (React Native) ecosystems. Your responsibilities span from designing database models and API endpoints to crafting polished user interfaces. You will drive product and technical decisions, architect systems from scratch, and work on core foundational challenges including AI-powered outcomes, search, transcription, on-device recording, performance, and automation. As part of a fast-moving, Y Combinator-backed startup, you will constantly experiment with the latest AI models and techniques to ship impactful features. The ideal candidate has a track record of shipping software at a high level, strong product sense, an eye for detail, and a desire to build reusable infrastructure that compounds team velocity.
