Senior Software Engineer

Onyx is actively seeking a driven Senior Software Engineer to join our venture-backed startup in New York, NY, operating in a flexible hybrid work arrangement. Onyx Odds is a rapidly growing social sports prediction platform poised to shake up the world of sports, and we are looking for a key engineering hire to join our lean team based in downtown Manhattan. In this role, you will work directly with our founding team to build, own, and scale our core product from inception to production. You will have end-to-end responsibility across the stack, making crucial architecture decisions, handling complex implementations, and ensuring robust system observability. You will leverage your strong full-stack expertise to build high-performance applications utilizing modern frameworks, with a heavy emphasis on TypeScript, React, and SQL for our web services, alongside React Native for our mobile platform. We are looking for an entrepreneurial builder with three to six or more years of experience, preferably with a background in developing low-latency systems or performance-sensitive applications. You will collaborate closely with founders on product direction, roadmap planning, and feature prioritization.
