Compensation and Benefits
NYC Public Schools offers competitive starting salaries based on education and years of teaching experience. The starting salary for a teacher with a master’s degree and no prior teaching experience is currently $77,455, or $68,902 for a teacher with a bachelor's degree and no previous teaching experience. On September 14, 2026, these salaries will increase to $80,166 and $71,314, respectively.

Requirements
Candidates must meet the following requirements to teach at NYC Public Schools:
Possess or be on track to earn New York State teacher certification by September 1, 2026
