About the Position: Aurora School is seeking a warm, reflective, and highly skilled Lower School Lead Teacher to join our K–5 faculty. The ideal candidate creates joyful, engaging classroom environments where students are challenged academically while also feeling deeply supported socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and evolve curriculum aligned with Aurora’s mission and responsive to students’ curiosity and developmental needs.
- Facilitate classroom experiences that nurture curiosity, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Create a safe and welcoming classroom community, establishing clear routines that support independence and responsibility.
- Build strong partnerships with families through clear communication, conferences, and regular updates on classroom life.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and the teacher inquiry cycle as part of our Lab School model.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education preferred.
- At least 3 years of successful elementary teaching experience preferred.
- California teaching credential preferred.
- Experience with progressive education, inquiry-driven and project-based learning, and/or constructivist teaching models.
